emotionalism

[From English emotion: a mental-physical passion, disturbance, or movement; derived from Latin emovere: to move out.]

  1. (ethics) Any ethical theory that is based on feeling as opposed to reason; the term often has connotations of nihilism or irrationalism.

  2. (epistemology) Any theory of knowledge that considers feeling to be a valid means of knowledge (similar to but less intellectualistic than intuitionism).
